Community service is the most well known face of Rotary and you may have seen Rotarians at work supporting communities without even realising it.

Here at Westbourne Rotary Club we take our community service seriously; and always strive to give back to the area in which we work and live.  Members have:

  • conducted a weekly raffle for the last 8 years to raise funds for a whole host of charities
  • provided a Christmas Lunch for a group of senior citizens
  • taken under privileged children to Paulton’s Park as part of “Rotary Kids Out” day
  • promoted health awareness as part of a Rotary “Stroke Awareness Day”
  • collected Christmas presents from local businesses for distribution by Barnardos
  • presented a scholarship award to a local young musician

We also present an annual Young Achiever award to a pupil at our local primary school, recognising and rewarding the talent of the future of our town.

During the centennial year of Rotary, 2005, the club installed a stone viewpoint on the West Cliff cliff-top area near to where the club meets as a permanent reminder of Rotary in the area.
